Characteristics of Symposia of Regional Pharmacovigilance Centers

Abstract

|
Objective: To investigate characteristics of symposia held by regional pharmacovigilance center (RPVC).
Methods: I summarized 45 lectures and 34 lecturers in 10 symposia held during 2009 according to lecture subjects and specialities of lecturers.
Results: Symposia were composed of 19 subjects of basic science and clinical knowledges of adverse drug reaction (ADR), 14 subjects of legal and practical problems of ADR and 12 subjects of purpose of pharmacovigilance research network and structures of RPVC. Lecturers were 14 allergologists, 6 dermatologists, 2 pediatricians, 2 gastroenterologists, 1 pulmonologist, 1 rheumatologist, 1 radiologist and 1 clinical phamacologist.
Conclusion: The subjects need to be developed as harmonized guidelines to improve the nationwide quality of pharmacovigilance (PV) and the lecturers to be cultivated to get experts of PV in every RPVC.
